š Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Voice Anger About Size Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Changes Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
